Spiti tis Kyprou, located in Athens, serves as the vibrant cultural hub of the Embassy of Cyprus in Athens. It promotes contemporary Cypriot creativity and traditional values through a variety of events, programs, and intercultural collaborations.
BELMA has undertaken a complete redesign and technical upgrade of the official website to ensure a digital experience that reflects its cultural significance.
Technical Implementation & Services
The Belma team developed the website from the ground up using the WordPress CMS, emphasizing stability, ease of management, and a modern aesthetic. We chose to implement the Gutenberg block editor to maximize the following benefits:
– Flexibility in content creation
– Ease of design and content management
– Improved user experience and engagement
– SEO-friendly layout
Belma incorporated features that highlight the institution’s modern character while preserving its cultural identity. Additionally, we fully optimized the site for speed and performance, resulting in reduced load times, enhanced navigation on both desktop and mobile devices, and improved search engine rankings.
Custom Development
Belma created custom features tailored to the organization’s needs, including a Custom Event Page that outlines essential details for each event (duration, location, and date). This page allows for the easy addition and viewing of upcoming events, enhancing functionality and accessibility for visitors.
Additionally, we developed an innovative Custom Dynamic Calendar that presents events in a clear and interactive monthly view. This user-friendly tool allows seamless navigation between months, with events prominently displayed right within the calendar cells for easy visibility. By default, the calendar opens to the current month and year, with the option to toggle nearby month events, offering a seamless and informative experience for staying updated.
The new website now serves as a digital space for creators, visitors, and information, showcasing aesthetic excellence and technical reliability. We are proud to contribute to the promotion of this important cultural institution.
